Restocked the freezer in the UNC Asheville Highsmith with a wide variety of homemade dairy and Vegan Ice Creams :)
Morning, folks! Today from 11am-2pm we’ll be set up with all #Vegan Ice Cream at the UNC Asheville Health Fair, which is held in the Sherrill Center & Kimmel Arena. Also, it’s Thursday, which means 20% off to all UNC Asheville OneCard holders (10% off every day)!
This week we debuted our newest flavor, Egg Fruit (or Yellow Sapote) Ice Cream, which is for sale now. What we didn’t tell you is that we also purchased some Chocolate Pudding Fruit (or Black Sapote (shown above)) from the same tropical fruit distributor. It tastes just like it’s named and is delicious. We made this last night and it should be on the menu within the next 48 hours. I’ll let you know :)
Dropped off assorted Ice Cream pints at the UNC Asheville Highsmith food court!

Forty Fingers and a Missing Tooth juggling show this Tuesday 2/19 from 6-7pm!!! As always our events are free and fun for all ages :)
So a customer of ours, who also is an exotic tropical fruit distributor travelling back and forth from Asheville to South Florida, recently stopped by to see if we were interested in using what he had to make Ice Cream. We are excited to say that we were interested and today we made a new Egg Fruit (or Canistel) Ice Cream! It’s extremely creamy (as you can see from the photo below) and has a flavor that, while delicious, is sort of difficult to describe (think something like a melon crossed with an avocado?!). The farm the Canistels came from is called Possum Trot Farm, which is owned and operated by Robert Barnum (interestingly enough, a distant relative of circus mogul, P.T. Barnum). For more on Mr. Barnum and Possum Trot Farm, here’s a link -> http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/shortorder/2009/02/robert_barnum_of_possum_trot_t.php
