This is always a day that has two sides. Yes Team Hop ran a mile in high heels and won a trophy, yes $37000 was raised for an extremely worthy cause. But for every person that contributed to Our Voice for the Walk a Mile Asheville there are a hundred (maybe more, maybe less) who have suffered, who make this organization so important. All we can hope is that our efforts make a difference, that this lends to progress and hope for People… We are all equal. Always. No matter what. And it’s best to always keep in mind that as a whole, we operate much better when we work together…

This is Greg, owner of The Hop Ice Cream Cafe. For the third year in a row, I, joined by my coworkers, will be putting on our high heels and in a team to support the 2013 Walk a Mile Asheville. It has been great to be a part of this event for the past 2 years and we look forward to it again on Saturday April 27th!
I personally am very proud to support this event for many reasons and hope that by participating I can help raise awareness and funds for Our Voice and help put an end to sexual violence and abuse. Today 500 people came out to support Our Voice for the Walk A Mile in Her Shoes event and nearly $30,000 were raised! I’m proud to report that Team Hop (Greg, Steve, Bronson and Larry) was the first team to cross the finish line for the second year in a row. Team Hop also raised $600+ for the cause!
